1、Open standard is beneficial for forming a just competitive environment
Over the past years, closed document formats seriously hampered the documents exchange among Chinese office software, and users almost had no choice but limited to use a certain software for a long term, which was not only bad for the development of China-made software, but brought about some hidden troubles in documents long-term saving to the users, who had long used a certain software. Therefore developing a unified national standard for Chinese document formats UOF became our common aspirations. RedFlag2000 is the main participant and makers of the UOF standard, and formally joined the working group of Chinese office software basic standards in 2002, contributing to the research and development of UOF. Five years later, UOF officially become a national standard and in this process, RedFlag2000 company has been continuously increased the intensity of product certification, first introduced products conforming to UOF standard in China. At present, our company is making continuous contributions to promote the extensive application of UOF. We firmly believe that we cannot be competitive only by imitation, and only relying on UOF China-made software will achieve genuine development. A unified and open national standards of document formats can provide a fair and open competition environment for China-made software and promote the bold innovation of office software manufacturers, realizing the diversification of products and the maturity of the industry.
2、China's basic software industry will be promoted based on Open Source
Open Source software is a gift given by Open Source Community to all human being, and has completely changed the pattern of software development in the world. Being widely integrated into the business software, it has also been widely used by governments, enterprises and institutions of many countries, providing a new development opportunity for China-made software. China's basic software includes Operating Systems, Databases, Middleware, Office and other common applied software, most of which are based on Open Source software. It can be said that without Open Source software, there would be no China's booming basic software, and only based on Open Source, China's domestic software can get real development. RedFlag2000 is a firm supporter of Open Source technologies and one of the most important contributors to the international Open Source Community. Since the establishment, RedFlag2000 has been developing China-made office software based on Open Source software OpenOffice.org, truly meeting the needs of the Chinese market, which is the goals and responsibilities of RedFlag2000. At the same time, we clearly see that China-made office software for open-source path can not be separated from the national guidance and support in policy, developing a good community environment, and creating a healthy industry open-source model, so that open, standard and shared China-made office software will be provided, which is worth our mutual effort.
3、Spare no effort to break monopoly for users' sake
At present, the domestic operating system software market and the support software market are monopolized by foreign software. Many multinational companies with advantages in technology, brand and scaled economies set up high trade barriers for other competitors' access to the industry, and priced high for a long term to obtain huge monopoly profits, badly damaging the user's interests. Take Microsoft as an example, it gradually becomes the leading software relying on its monopoly in operating system, and controls office software file format through Fact Standard to consolidate its monopoly position, resulting in China's domestic office Software's difficulty from the start in compatibility, which greatly constrained the innovation of the domestic office software. When the market competition is curbed, the monopoly enterprises also lost its ability in innovation, too busy to promote the innovated products, which also damages users' right. RedFlag2000 company has been insisting for the protection of the interests of users to break the monopoly and has adhered to a comprehensive innovation over the past years, sparing no effort to shake off Microsoft's limitations and influence and insisting in developing office software suitable for Chinese people, which make RedFlag2000 an important power for the promotion of China's information construction. Practice has proved that, Open Source technology and open standards are the two main weapons helping us to break the monopoly.
